Professional Driver
Training in Nanaimo
Class
1
*Allows a person to operate semi trucks and all other classes of vehicles
except motorcycles.
Requirements: Must be 19 years of age and obtain driver's abstract
from Driver's Services.
Steps Taken:
1) Take 20-hour air brake course.
2) Take written exam at Drivers Services and receive air brake endorsement
on Class 5 license.
3) Obtain Class 1 learner's license at Drivers Services
4) Register for driver training
5) When training is complete, take pre-trip and road test at Driver
Services
Package 1
20-hour Air Brake course and 86 hours of Driver Training
Package 2
20-hour Air Brake course and 66 Hours of Driver Training
Driver Training is sold separately for those who already have their
air brake endorsement.
All fees must be in place before training commences. Lessons are taught
in 4-hour blocks.
Class
2
* Allows a person to operate buses and special activity buses
and those vehicles in class 4.
Requirements: Must be 19 years of age and obtain driver's abstract
from Drivers Services.

1) Obtain Class 2 learner's license at Driver Services
2) Register for driver training
3) When training is complete, take pre-trip and road test at Driver
Services.
4) If bus has air
brakes you will need air brake endorsement
Package
22 hours of driver training plus pre-trip and use of bus for exam

Class 3
*Allows a person to operate trucks with more than 2 axels such as
dump trucks or large tow trucks or mobile truck crane.
Requirements: Must be 18 years of age and obtain drivers abstract from
Driver's Services.

2) Take written exam at Drivers Services and receive air brake endorsement
on class 5 license
3) Obtain Class 3 learners license at Drivers Services
4) Register for driver training

up to 25 persons, including vehicles used to transport people with disabilities.
Also taxis, limousines, and ambulances.

8 hours driver training & pre-trip
Packages include use of van for road test.
